Both are equally good and capable to help you with your development, however, development with asp.net is a bit faster compared to PHP as the entire .NET framework is easy to understand and offers a lot of functionality right out of the box where as in PHP you have to pretty much code many of the things yourself unless you are using some PHP framework. one downside of ASP would be its not open source where as PHP is open source. read less
