I have been dedicated to teaching English Language and Literature for over four decades, nurturing young minds across various states and educational boards in India. My journey in education began in 1985, and since then, I have had the privilege of teaching students from classes 9 to 12 under CBSE, ICSE, Odisha State Board, and Andhra Pradesh State Board curricula. Throughout my career, I have aimed to help students not just learn English, but truly connect with the subject.

My academic foundation lies in a Postgraduate degree in English Literature from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. In addition to this, I have qualified the UGC-NET for Lectureship, which has further solidified my credentials as a mentor in the subject. These qualifications have empowered me to approach the language with both depth and clarity, and to design learning experiences that are aligned with both syllabus requirements and real-world language use.

Teaching English has been a dynamic experience, especially as curriculum patterns have evolved. A recent challenge was adapting to the revised CBSE Class 12 Literature question paper format, introduced as part of the New Education Policy. Many students found the new pattern confusing. I took it upon myself to decode the complexities of these changes and help my students approach the questions with clarity and confidence. By breaking down the structure and guiding them through analytical thinking, I have ensured they feel more prepared and less anxious.

Among the highlights of my academic life is receiving the prestigious National Merit Scholarship from the Government of India. This recognition for academic excellence remains a memorable milestone in my journey and constantly motivates me to uphold the highest standards in education. However, what truly brings me pride is the progress and success of my students over the years—many of whom have gone on to excel in their careers and higher studies.

I prefer conducting my classes online as it allows me to reach a wider student base and offer flexible learning solutions. I follow a well-structured lesson plan tailored to the academic level and individual needs of each student. My teaching style encourages active participation through discussions, question-answer sessions, and thorough literary analysis. I also place a strong emphasis on grammar, comprehension, and interpretation skills, which are foundational to mastering the subject.

To enhance engagement and understanding, I regularly use PowerPoint presentations and educational videos in my sessions. These tools bring abstract literary themes and concepts to life, making the learning process more visual and relatable. Whether it’s dissecting a Shakespearean play or analysing poetry, my goal is to make literature both accessible and enjoyable for every student I teach.
