IdentityI've been a part of several bands, having played both lead guitar and bass, and have already taught several students to different levels of proficiency. What you want to learn is what you shall be taught, be it string skipping arpeggios, or sweep picking, or legato, or simply an improved strumming ability!
For reference, some of my guitar heroes are Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Guthrie Govan, and, of course, Slash! iiii]; )
I've also been a passionate student throughout my life, scoring a first division for all six semesters in my Literature Bachelors, as well as for the two I've currently completed in my Post-graduate degree for Psychology.
There is a philosophy behind learning as a whole, and that is what I really want to tap into with my students. Education as a field has never been viewed quite at par with an activity of self discovery, like music, but in my opinion that is very easily rectifiable. You have to understand the ways in which education too is broadening the horizons of your mind, and I hope to be able to inculcate that in the students that I will be teaching.
