Simran - M.sc, BA (Hons.) Political Science

I teach Social Science to students from Classes 9 to 12, with a special focus on Sociology and Political Science. I have 4 years of teaching experience and work with students to develop a strong understanding of concepts, improve their analytical abilities, and approach their subjects with greater confidence. My teaching is designed to make Social Science engaging and relevant rather than limited to memorising information.
I hold a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in International Relations from the University of Glasgow, U.K. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, and related areas of Social Science. It also allows me to connect classroom concepts with broader political, social, and international developments.
Alongside teaching, I am a professional researcher, which gives me the opportunity to stay updated with developments in politics, international affairs, and the social sciences. I bring this research-oriented perspective into my classes by using relevant examples, current affairs, and real-world situations to explain concepts. This helps students understand not only what a concept means but also how it applies beyond the textbook.
I follow a structured and student-centred teaching methodology. I begin each class with a clear lesson plan and defined learning objectives so that students know what they are expected to understand by the end of the session. I then conduct interactive classes where students are encouraged to ask questions, express their views, participate in discussions, and engage actively with the subject.
I place particular emphasis on conceptual clarity and critical thinking. In subjects such as Sociology and Political Science, I believe students benefit greatly when they are encouraged to analyse different perspectives and understand the reasoning behind concepts. I use real-life examples, current affairs, and practical applications to make topics easier to understand and help students develop the ability to form well-reasoned arguments.
My teaching approach is also flexible according to each student's learning pace, existing understanding, and academic needs. I regularly review student progress, identify areas that require improvement, and adjust my teaching accordingly. Whether a student needs help strengthening basic concepts, understanding complex topics, or developing better analytical skills, I aim to provide clear and focused guidance.
I offer both online and offline classes and use tools such as PPT presentations and a digital or physical whiteboard to make lessons more organised and interactive. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable discussing ideas, asking questions, and developing their own understanding of Social Science. Through my academic background, research experience, and teaching experience, I strive to help students become confident and thoughtful learners of Sociology and Political Science.
