I teach only science and when kids come in 9th class, there are a lot of new things that are introduced in science like gravitational force in physics and animal kingdom in biology, so yes children finds the syllabus a bit challenging but if you teach them nicely with examples and everything and once they start enjoying it, it's a good journey ahead
