This is a remarkable tale of a young woman who believed she had to make big & be famous, appreciated & known for her winning attitude right from her early years. Every time my connect with this aspiring woman made me aware of a sparkle in her eyes of self confidence & achievement beyond appreciation. Her father is a famous doctor. When asked why she chose something totally different from her family she shared , Even I had this goal to be like my father,a very famous doctor ( even I was very good in studies) But my passion since my early childhood was dance( I started at the age of 3) In my first attempt in medical,I was short by very few marks,and in second attempt,I was 100% sure of clearing it, but my brother met with a serious accident, just a day before my paper & my parents had to take him out of country, for surgery,and I missed my exam .So,it was in my destiny to go in the profession of my passion I wanted to fulfill my parents dream of being in white coat( as a doctor) but,destiny decided something else. But,in this profession,by God's grace,I have now earned so much name, fame, money & prestigious contacts,that my parents feel proud of me And,now,when my elder son is about to complete his MBBS,I feel,I have fulfilled my dad's dreams also That is the tale of our very famous & amazingly confident Dancer -Anamica Goel our strong woman feature this week.
Goel, founder of Kala Vatika Dance Studio, established in 1998, is acclaimed across the nation for her traditionally Indian yet refreshingly modern dance style. Imbibing the intricacies of the dance forms synonymous with grace and beauty; she acquired her classical training in Kathak from Lachoo Maharaj Ji. Training in many dance forms ranging from Indian folk to Salsa to Latin American and Can Can, under the tutelage of many reputed names, makes her an exceptional dancer. Further knowledge of bharatnatyam together with her experience as an HOD in DPS & Scottish High schools, teacher and mentor, has enriched her understanding, expression and communication of human emotion and behavior reflected in all aspects of her work and being.
In this holistic journey of 22 years, Anamica has not only helped awaken mindfulness in many underprivileged & special kids, but also won many accolades. In the year 2000, The Times of India felicitated her with â??Best Dancer Award. The tinsel town was not very far away as she stepped onboard for two TV serials, under the banner of Kashish Films followed by grabbing 2nd prize in Boogie-Woogie [Ladies group]. She was nominated for Padmashree in 2014 & won many International & National awards, like-Times Award,Samrastra Manch, Nari-Shakti award etc. Her persona and skill have made her profile published in more than 90 leading newspapers of India, along with many TV interviews.
