I have almost 6 years of experience teaching Class 9 students, with a specific focus on Science and Mathematics. During this period, I have taught students following both the CBSE and ICSE curricula, giving me experience in adapting my teaching approach to different syllabi, question patterns, and academic requirements. My teaching approach is concept-oriented. I believe that Class 9 students need to develop a strong understanding of fundamental concepts rather than simply memorising formulas, definitions, or answers. I therefore begin each topic by explaining the core concept in a clear and structured manner, ensuring that the student understands the why behind what they are learning. For Mathematics, I focus on building conceptual clarity before moving towards problem-solving. After explaining a topic, I provide students with topic-specific worksheets, so they can practise different types of questions and gradually develop accuracy and confidence. I use practice to identify areas where a student is struggling and then revisit those concepts accordingly. For Science, I try to make concepts easier to understand by connecting them with real-life examples and everyday observations. This helps students relate theoretical concepts to situations they already encounter, making topics more meaningful and easier to remember. I also encourage students to practise questions after learning a concept so that they can apply their understanding rather than relying only on theoretical learning. Over the years, my experience with Class 9 students has helped me understand that students learn at different speeds and may require different explanations or levels of practice. I therefore try to maintain a student-focused and interactive approach, combining clear conceptual explanations, real-life examples, and structured worksheet practice. Overall, my nearly six years of experience teaching Class 9 Mathematics and Science across CBSE and ICSE has enabled me to develop a teaching style that focuses on conceptual clarity, regular practice, application of knowledge, and building students' confidence in the subjects.
