Students learn in class ninth, how language and mathematics get intertwined with each other. Complex numerical problems are served as a word puzzle from which students are required to identify all the known and unknown variables and use these variables along with the given data to figure out the values of unknown variables. Maths gets exciting when you start identifying these variables on your own. It took me sometime but when I started teaching various mathematical concepts like a part of a story, students started loving the lesson and the engagement increased dramatically.

I’ve had the opportunity to teach International baccalaureate students from grade 8th to 10th. Before that I used to teach maths at a coaching Institute to students form 6th to 10th grade. I started on this teaching journey by providing private tuitions to kids in my neighbourhood. After receiving great reviews from those kids, I decided to join a coaching Institute and kept at it for several years. Teaching school students is a rewarding experience as it motivates me to keep learning and improving my own knowledge.

Teaching class 10th students can sometimes feel overwhelming, specially if the student hasn’t been with me during their ninth grade schooling as the topics taught in ninth class are of utmost importance to understand the concepts taught in 10th class. But because 10th grade also comes with the pressure of giving your 100%, students are highly motivated to learn and clear their doubts. One of my favourite topics that I like to teach 10th grade students is trigonometry because it requires a kind of storytelling to understand at a deeper level.
