Ratio of present age of P & Q = 5 : 7
Taking x as variable ,
Presnt Age of P = 5x
Present Age of Q = 7x
After 6 years ,
Age of P = 5x +6
Age of Q = 7x + 6
Differnce = 2 (given)
(7x +6) - (5x+6) = 2
7x +6 - 5x -6 = 2
7x - 5x = 2
2x = 2
X = 1
Then ,
Present age of P = 5 × 1 = 5
Prensent age of Q = 7× 1 = 7
Total of present ages = 5 + 7 = 12 years
