Ask a Question
In ideal case, when there is no frictional force present, the bicycle should keep moving at constant speed. But in real world, there is friction between mechanical linkages of bicycle and between road and bicycle tyre which producrs a retarding force acting opposite to our applied force. So, when we stop pedaling the bicycle, the retarding force due to friction becomes greater than accelerating force applied by human pedaling the bicycle. Due to this reason, the bicycle starts to slow down.
