Poet, writer (articles, essays, screenplays), short film maker, singer, a lover of literature and art in general.

I'd say it depends on what you want. If you only want to write better and improve your vocab and grammar, a one-on-one tutorial would do along with referring good books like Wren & Martin (for grammar) and 'Word Power Made Easy' by Norman Lewis (for vocab and fine-tuning in general). However, an MA in...

However, an MA in English involves literature as well and would give you a sound overall knowledge of the different works in English. It will make you more KNOWLEDGEABLE in English, and not just a good writer or speaker. So yes, it is important to first know what you want in the long run. read less

I would rather suggest that you start reading lots of books in English (story books on your favourite genre, books on subjects you are interested in) as this would go a long way in helping you to develop vocabulary. Unless you are an ardent lover of English Literature, I would not recommend you to join M.A. English. You enrolling for M.A. will not help you to improve your writing skills. The syllabus is more inclined towards Literature rather than Language. I would suggest that you join one on one training with a tutor. Happy writing. read less

Try doing this for a month and see how much you will improve. Watching news channels, reading newspapers, speaking to someone else or listening to others are very common solutions. But, this is a different approach how I do. Do let me know what you feel on my comment. read less

MA English provides your base for literature. If you want to do a PG Degree for actual English (that is spoken, written etc) go for MA Linguistics.

reading is my passion...Now I think of trying my luck in writing. I need advice
You don't need to train yourself in anything to write, otherwise there wouldn't have been so many writers and so many writing genres. Just feel free to pen down whatever is coming to your mind and it will be a masterpiece, I guarantee! :)
