Ponselvan Arumugasamy

I am a CSIR-UGC NET qualified Agricultural Graduate (AIR 61, 95.77 percentile, Dec 2023) with a strong academic foundation in Genetics, Plant Breeding, and Molecular Biology. I hold an M.Sc. in Genetics and Plant Breeding (OGPA 86.4%) from Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha, and a B.Sc. in Agriculture (OGPA 87.4%) from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, Coimbatore. I also completed my HSC (Math–Biology) with 87.6%.

My expertise spans key areas of modern plant science, including Molecular Assisted Selection (MAS), disease-resistance breeding, stress-tolerance breeding, backcross programs, and population advancement. I am experienced in handling molecular marker data, genetic analysis, field experimentation, and molecular purity testing in commercial seed lots.

Alongside research, I have actively contributed to student mentoring, academic guidance, and capacity building, which strengthened my ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for young learners. My strong subject knowledge, combined with a clear and structured teaching approach, enables me to support higher secondary students in Biology, Agriculture, and related subjects with confidence and clarity.
