Teaching Experience in detail in Hindi Language Classes
I have extensive teaching experience in the Hindi language across different levels, from beginners to middle school learners. My primary focus has always been to make Hindi learning simple, engaging, and practical for students, so that they not only understand grammar but also use the language confidently in daily communication. At the beginner stage, I introduced students to the Hindi varnamala, including swar (vowels) and vyanjan (consonants). I guided them through correct pronunciation, letter formation, and recognition, ensuring that they built a strong foundation. Once they became familiar with letters, I moved to barakhadi (consonant–vowel combinations), basic word building, and simple sentence formation. I also taught small poems and rhymes, which helped young learners improve their listening and speaking skills. For Grade 1 and Grade 2 students, I created over 50 worksheets that supported CBSE-level learning. These worksheets included exercises on reading, writing, matching words, fill-in-the-blanks , picture-based vocabulary, and small comprehension passages. I also used storytelling and flashcards to hold their attention and improve retention. At the middle school level (Grades 5 to 7), my focus shifted towards spoken Hindi and grammar. I introduced practical conversation topics such as greetings, self-introduction, asking questions, and roleplay dialogues. Students practiced short conversations daily, which helped them gain fluency and confidence. To make grammar less intimidating, I explained concepts like ling (gender), vachan (number), kaal (tenses), sandhi, and samas in simple ways with examples. I adopted a bilingual and sometimes trilingual approach (English–Hindi–Tamil), especially for Tamil-speaking students, so that they could easily understand meanings and usage. This approach helped reduce fear of the language and encouraged active participation. I also prepared daily practice worksheets for spoken Hindi learners, with English–Hindi–Tamil examples, so they could practice both vocabulary and sentence construction. To further enrich the learning process, I used songs, short videos, and interactive games. I also encouraged students to speak in Hindi for a few minutes every class, gradually increasing their confidence. Roleplays like “at the shop,” “at school,” or “introducing a friend” were very effective in developing real-life usage. The outcome of my teaching was highly positive. Students showed improvement in reading fluency, writing accuracy, pronunciation, and overall communication skills. Many who initially struggled with Hindi began to enjoy and find interest in the subject and use it more naturally. Creating interest and confidence in Hindi has been the most rewarding part of my teaching experience.
