Amphibians are animals like snake, tortoise, frog, crocodile etc. that live both on the land and water. How do they live?..... because they have gills to breath in water and lungs to breathe when they are on the land. Bryophytes are plants like mosses and liverworts. They are usually found near water bodies and moist environment. Though they live on the land, their male gametes are not carried by wind for pollination. Male gametes are water-proof and flagellated( flagella is a tail like growth for swimming). They are shed in the water. These male gametes float in the water and reach the female gametes. This means their pollination needs water. So to complete the reproductive cycle, water is essential. read less
