The Area of a Regular Pentagon = 5 x Area of one Equilateral Triangle *From centre of Pentagon draw line to each corner of Pentagon which will give 5 Triangles of equal area i.e. 5 Equilateral Triangles. Hence 5 times area of one triangle gives area of Pentagon

A regular pentagon consists of 10 right angled triangles, as its all angles and sides are equal, area of one right angles triangle= 1/2 base into height when multiplied by 10 gives the area of the pentagon . you only need to know the side length of pentagon.

Draw a pentagon ABCDE. Join CE. You get one triangle and a trapezium. Area of triangle=1/2 X Base X Height, and area of trapezium = Sum of length of two parallel sides / 2 X height. Area of Pentagon = Area of triangle + Area of trapezium.

A's 1 day work=1/15, B's= 1/20, Combined 1-day work=(1/15 + 1/20= 7/60); Combined 4 day's work= 28/60, therefore work left=(1-28/60)=32/60 or 8/15
