When I took physical chemistry a long time ago, I found a two volume paperback set that was purely devoted to solving problems in physical chemistry; they went through the major areas, such as gas law, thermodynamics, etc., set up problems, and showed in detail how they were solved. And in graduate school, they helped me pass the physical chemistry prelims. I don't know if something like that is still published, but I would try and find out if they are.
