Well, thats pretty simple . The cube roots of unity are 1, [(-1+(sq.root 3)*i)/2] , [(-1 - (sq.root 3)*i)/2] . Excluding 1, perform a square of any of the remaining roots (i.e The complex number roots) If you perform a square of [(-1 - (sq.root 3)*i)/2] , you get [(-1 + (sq.root 3)*i)/2] , and vice-versa . The three cube roots of unity are as follows: 1, (-1+i*sqrt(3))/2, (-1-i*sqrt(3))/2. Let us square the second root /4 =/4 Cancelling one 2 from numerator and denominator. =(-1-i*sqrt(3))/2. which is the third cube root. Thus the second cube root of unity is the square root of the...

I teach maths in such a way that students get the concept in easily and score well in exams.

cube root of unity is 1. so lhs is 1. now cube root of unity is 1 and its square is also 1,so rhs is also 1. lhs=rhs hence proved

If we use the proper method, the solution is very lengthy and also it involves polynomial to the power 4. However, if we use hit and trial method, it becomes very easy. sqrt x + y =11, sqrt y + x =7,...
