If the gas in a cylinder is used up, does it mean that there is now vacuum inside or air inside the cylinder?

Nobody can use all the gas of the cylinder..Gas is pressurized in the cylinder and as we switch on the burner it comes in the contact with the atmosphere which causes pressure gradient (pressure inside cylinder is more than outside so gas starts coming out). but when pressure becomes equal to the atmosphere...

Nobody can use all the gas of the cylinder..Gas is pressurized in the cylinder and as we switch on the burner it comes in the contact with the atmosphere which causes pressure gradient (pressure inside cylinder is more than outside so gas starts coming out). but when pressure becomes equal to the atmosphere then gas won't flow because there will be no pressure difference but still some amount of gas there in the cylinder..Hope i made myself clear.. read less

Neither vacuum nor air inside the cylinder..Pressure difference is the reason for the flow of gas from inside of the cylinder to burner which is at atmospheric pressure (Pressure inside cylinder is more than atmospheric pressure). As gas gets consumed pressure comes down and finally a time comes at which pressure inside the cylinder become equal to the atmospheric pressure which cease the further flow of gases from the cylinder. But it doesn't mean the cylinder has become empty. It is filled up with some amount of gas which exerts only one atm. read less

Pressure inside the cylider is more than atmospheric pressure, so the gas comes out. When presuure inside the cylinder becomes equal to atmospheric pressure, the flow stops.
