And no 1 they don' t have much magnetic strength as compared to artificial magnets. And 2 they are in irregular shapes

Take a magnetic compass.we know its north pole and south pole.now bring one end of a magnet to the north pole of magnetic compass ,if they repel each other , that is north pole.but if they attract .that is south pole

disadvantage is less magnetic effect, poles are identify in such a way that same charge repel each other an d different charges attract each other.

The point that normally points to the north pole of Earth should point to one end of the magnet. That end is actually the South pole of the magnet. read less

Ans 2.Suspend the bar magnet freely using a thread. The magnet will point in Geographical North South direction. The end pointing towards Geographical North is the North Pole of the magnet and the end pointing towards Geographical South is the South Pole of the magnet.
