starting pay in government sector is comparatively low and this does not have promotions soon. but in privately pay and work benefits attracts the people towards working in private sector.

Firstly this is not completely true, there are many who prefer jobs in public sector, because it more secured. On the other hand private sectors often offer better pay packages.

It is basically due to the amount of competition (high ratio between no. of people competing & no. of people getting selected) in Public Sector jobs, slow positional growth in public sector jobs, lack of opportunities to improvize in your organizational role & chances of movement abroad.

Youths who want to excel at the field they intend to choose would prefer private sector jobs as it would give them more exposure to the international work ethics and they would learn a lot. This will eventually result in salary hikes and a higher living standard. Also, you won't get to work in a PSU as freely as a private sector company. read less
