Electrons don't and cannot orbit the nucleus in these orbits like planets orbit. Firstly they are very complex 3D shaped and although they center the nucleus they don't necessarily encompass it. They just exist in the orbits. read less

The nucleus is positively charged whether the electrons are negatively charged. The Coulombic force of attraction between the necleus and electrons supply the necessary centrifugal force that results in the motion of the electron.
