Sustainable development is the development of the society to meet the human development goals, and without compromising on the need to balance the ecosystem and the environment. It is essential to maintain and practice sustainable development because society is driven by needs and harming the balance of the environment and the ecosystem to fulfil their needs. For example, we are dependent on natural resources like fossil fuels to meet our fuel needs. It is going to be extinguished in a couple of years and will take millions of years to restore. One main implication of following the unsustainable development is th climatic change global warming. Having said that, sustainable development is not just about the environment. It also focuses on the human well being and ensuring a strong, healthy society. It simultaneously focuses on both the environment and society. The changes that we adhere to now will impact in the future. For example, Take a walk or cycle to the nearby shops or supermarkets, instead of taking your bike. This will save you money, fuel and also increases your body movement. To practice sustainable development, it is essential to make the right decisions, as it will affect society. For example, depending on the imports for their food supply, instead of growing it, UK runs short on food supply. read less

The world has made huge strides in ares of conveniences and goods production. Thus more houses, roads, dams, bridges, foods, innovative daily use convenience products are being manufactured and used in a continually greater and increasing proportions over the years. This development comes at a huge cost of resources depletion. Thus more and more petroleum products, water, electricity, fuel etc are required to fulfil increased human needs. These resources are not replenishable and are in large but limited in supply on thiss planet earth. Caol, Minerals, Metals and Oil are not going to last for ever. Thus there is an attempt to conserve depleted resources and use renewable or readily replenishable resource such as sunlight, agro produce etc. Therefore Recycling, Reusing and Reducing the use of resource consuming items ( 3Rs) are the need of the hour. Thus development by using renewable resources is Sustainable Development. read less
