0The Enabling Act was passed on 3 March 1933.
It was one of the most important steps through which Hitler destroyed democracy in Germany and established dictatorship.
What did the Act do?
The Enabling Act gave Hitler the power to:
→ Make laws without the approval of Parliament
→ Rule largely without parliamentary control
→ Establish complete control over Germany
Soon, other political parties and trade unions were banned.
The Nazi Party became the only political party in Germany.

Why is it important?
