With the increasing industrialization and population explosion, the demand for energy has been on an all time high. This has come with extreme repercussions, though. The major sources of energy, the fossil fuels, are being rapidly consumed to meet our ever-growing energy needs. The implication? Our natural reserves are nearing exhaustion, meaning little or none would be left for the future generations to use. Our environment is severely polluted- excessive use of non-green, conventional sources of energy has charred our planet. Our water, land, air are all polluted to an enormous extent: if no checks are made to the current situation, we would soon be at a point of no return. There's a need to use renewable, green energy sources; solar energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy are the need of our time. We need to tap into these limitless sources and meet our requirements responsibly. read less
