Draw a triangle whose sides are of lengths 4 cm, 5 cm and 7 cm?

First draw a base line of 7cms. Then take a measurement in compass of 4cms using scale. Draw an Arc from one of the end point of the base line. Repeat the same procedure for 5cms from another end point of base line. Draw two lines to both ends from the mid point of the Arc.

First draw a base line, say AB, equals to one of the measurement given. Then take measurements equal to the other two sides & draw Arcs from point A & B respectively. Join the point of intersection, say C, of both of the arcs from A & B. ABC is the required triangle.
