LIGHT: LAW OF REFLECTION
The law of reflection explains how light bounces back when it hits a smooth surface like a mirror. It has two main rules:
-
The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
This means the angle at which light falls on a surface (angle of incidence) is exactly the same as the angle at which it bounces back (angle of reflection). -
The incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal all lie in the same plane.
Here, the normal is an imaginary line drawn at 90° (perpendicular) to the surface at the point where the light hits.
