निशा+अन्घकारे This is दीर्घ संधि (अ + अ = आ)

निशा + अन्धकारे = निशान्धकारे। Here, आ + अ = आ। The sandhi is called as सवर्ण-दीर्घ-सन्धि and the sUtra for it is अकः सवर्णे दीर्घः।
