Not always the case. Depends on variety of factors e.g. Distance between object and light source, object and screen etc.

Understand that larger objects make larger shadows and smaller objects make smaller shadows when the objects are placed the same distance away from a light source. Explain that if an object moves closer to a light source, its shadow becomes larger.
