Today, the world is said to be a global village. This is because it has come closer with die help of efficient and fast moving transport and equally developed communication system. The means of transportation and communication bring far-flung areas of a country quite closer to each other.and carry the greatest number of passengers to longest journey in lesser time with more comforts. Goods and services do not move from supply locations to demand location on their own. The means of transportation carry thousands of tonnes of different commodities from one part of the country to the other and thus avoid much hardships of people. Today, India is well-linked with the rest of the world despite its vast size, diversity and linguistic and socio-cultural plurality due to advanced transport and communication system. In war times, they facilitates the movements of arms, ammunition and other essential things. Thus, it can be concluded that the pace of development depends upon the production of goods and services as well as movement over space. read less
