Which gas is produced when dilute hydrochloric acid is added to a reactive metal? Write the chemical reaction when iron reacts with dilute H2SO4.

Hydrogen gas is produced. Fe + h2so4----> feSO4 + h2O Here fe is oxidised into fe2+ by h+ and the SO4^2- ion does not play any role in this reaction. You can replace the h2SO4 by hCl.
