   rectangle definition                 Rectangle

If Length of the rectangle = l

  Breadth(width) of the rectangle = b

Then , formula to find the area of rectangle is given by

A = l x b  square units

 

ex:-

If Length of the rectangle = l = 40 cm

  Breadth(width) of the rectangle = b = 15cm

Area of rectangle (A) = l x b

                           A = 40 x 15

                              = 600 cm2
