In Communication engineering we say that the transmission performance is maximised when there is no attenuation, perfect frequency tuning and equal energy sharing between the various parameters or variables of a communication system. Likewise in Human communication too to make it interesting and productive all three entities (sender, receiver and medium) should work in tandem, be synchronous and supporting each other fully to benefit both the parties in play. Here the pillars are clarity in language tuned with appropriate body language, definite intent and objective with a positive purpose/outcome and specific and time-bound need fulfillment for both sides. Also as the conversation progresses there has be a regular feedback mechanism to testify and calibrate the effectiveness of communication. The simple tip is to remain genuine, concerned and empathetic. Remain focused on the content and context and not on the form or physical attributes of the speaker or receiver.

Hi Radhika, Good useful suggestions by Shailendra, Vivek and Kumar. Start implementing these in your life NOW. Dont worry if it takes time..but NEVER give up. LEARN ONE WORD A DAY, dont worry of the spelling or meaning. While reading this word in a sentence, just understand what sense it makes to YOU in that sentence. Dont refer the dictionary and find synonyms etc...it would confuse and scare you more. Start reading english newspapers ALOUD..dont worry if others are passing comments. The best way to improve spoken English skills is to SPEAK SPEAK and SPEAK in English, not worrying about the mistakes or if it makes sense. Best is to try it out with your close friends or well wishers or parents or siblings if you feel they can encourage you. At this stage you need to be ENCOURAGED and motivated by others to improve even if you make mistakes. You can join a Toastmasters club near your area.
