Dance is a divine form of art. I was fortunate enough to learn the undiluted grace of Kathak and Bharatanatyam, from places of their respective origin- indeed getting the best of both worlds!
With me, you will be able to learn and discover the intricate skills of a Kathakaar, while enjoying the lovely jugalbandi between ghungroo and bol.
Whether you are a newbie or an experienced dancer, we can curate and work in a method best suited to you, ensuring the essence of the art is achieved.
My teachings are based out of Jaipur gharana and I am from Pt. Durga Lal’s parampara.
I offer classes on weekends. Happy to get in touch and listen to your world!

A strong understanding of dance concepts are important irrespective of dance forms.  With that said, at our institute, we have trained students who held prior experience in Kathak/ Bharatanatyam. As observed, they were quickly able to adapt themselves to concepts and artform specific details, irrespective of their background. So to conclude, it is impotant to grasp concepts that are more or less similar in all dance forms and the dance will follow!

Is there any disadvantage on learning Kathak?

Oh yes! You'll unfortunately gain a meticulous sense of balance, thanks to tatkaars and chakkars. With some more practice, you might even end up falling in love with the dance!

Which is easier to learn: Kathak or Bharatnatyam?

As a trained dancer in both these art forms, my observation is Bharatanatyam is more about endurance (yes, the aramandi!!) and Kathak is about agility (one blink and that chakkar is done!). With enough practice, both these forms will appear easy!
