I am a Bharatanatyam teacher with 8 years of teaching experience and a Diploma in Bharatanatyam. My teaching journey began while I was studying in Class 10, and since then I have been dedicated to training students in the art and discipline of classical dance. Over the years, I have taught students of different age groups and skill levels, helping them develop not only their dance techniques but also their confidence, creativity, and stage presence. My teaching approach goes beyond dance movements and focuses on the overall development of the student as a performer. In my classes, I teach practical Bharatanatyam lessons including adavus, jathis, items, posture, rhythm, coordination, and performance techniques. Along with practical training, I also conduct theory classes to help students understand the history, cultural significance, terminology, and technical aspects of Bharatanatyam. I believe that a strong theoretical foundation enhances a student’s appreciation and understanding of the art form. I place great importance on discipline, dedication, and regular practice. Through my classes, I encourage students to develop punctuality, commitment, respect for the art form, and a positive learning attitude. These values help them grow not only as dancers but also as individuals. Another important aspect of my teaching is acting and expression training (Abhinaya). I guide students in understanding emotions, facial expressions, storytelling, and character portrayal, enabling them to perform with confidence and authenticity. By combining dance, theory, and acting, I aim to provide a well-rounded learning experience that prepares students for stage performances and artistic growth. For the past three years, I have been conducting online Bharatanatyam classes. Through structured lesson plans, demonstrations, and personalized feedback, I have successfully trained students in a virtual environment while maintaining the quality of instruction. Online teaching has allowed me to connect with students from different locations and make classical dance education more accessible. Teaching Bharatanatyam is my passion, and I take pride in nurturing students who appreciate the beauty, discipline, and cultural richness of Indian classical dance. My goal is to inspire every student to learn with dedication, perform with confidence, and carry forward the traditions of Bharatanatyam with pride.
