Siddique Khan - Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry | Researcher & Teacher

I am a Chemistry teacher with around 3 years of teaching experience, working with students from Class 10 to postgraduate level. I teach Chemistry to students of Classes 10, 11, and 12, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate learners. I completed my Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) in 2025. My academic and research background has given me advanced knowledge of Organic Chemistry along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, which I bring into my teaching.

My teaching approach focuses on developing a strong conceptual foundation so that students can understand Chemistry rather than simply memorise reactions, mechanisms, formulas, or definitions. I try to simplify complex topics by breaking them down into smaller and more understandable concepts. I encourage students to ask questions and actively participate in the learning process, as I believe that curiosity and discussion are important for developing a deeper understanding of the subject.

I teach students across different academic levels, so I understand that the approach required for a school student can be very different from that needed by an undergraduate or postgraduate learner. For Classes 10 to 12, I focus on strengthening fundamentals, understanding the syllabus, solving problems, and preparing systematically for examinations. For undergraduate and postgraduate students, I can approach topics at a greater depth, particularly in areas related to Organic Chemistry, while helping students develop analytical thinking and a more detailed understanding of the subject.

My teaching methodology is structured according to the student's learning level, academic requirements, and specific goals. I plan my sessions around conceptual clarity, problem-solving, and exam-oriented preparation. Depending on the student's needs, I can focus on strengthening weak areas, revising important concepts, practising questions, or preparing for upcoming examinations. I believe that regular practice combined with clear explanations helps students become more confident and independent in their approach to Chemistry.

I use tools such as PowerPoint presentations and digital whiteboards to make my classes organised and interactive. These resources help me explain concepts systematically, illustrate important points, and work through problems during the session. I also encourage students to participate rather than simply listen, and I use questions and discussions to understand whether they have genuinely understood a topic. My objective is to make each session focused while giving students enough opportunity to clarify their doubts.

My academic journey has also given me extensive exposure to advanced Chemistry and research. I completed my doctoral research in Organic Chemistry at IIT Madras, which strengthened my ability to analyse complex problems, interpret information, and approach scientific questions systematically. During my postgraduate studies in Chemistry, I was awarded a Gold Medal in recognition of my academic excellence and outstanding performance. These experiences have contributed significantly to my subject knowledge and my ability to guide students at different academic levels.

I conduct Chemistry classes through both online and offline modes and aim to provide a focused, interactive, and supportive learning environment. Whether a student is preparing for school examinations, looking to strengthen their fundamentals, or studying Chemistry at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, I adapt my teaching to their requirements. My goal is to make Chemistry more understandable and approachable while helping students develop strong conceptual knowledge, effective problem-solving skills, and the confidence to perform well academically.
