With better transport routes and roadways, this process of transporting goods, passengers, etc becomes easier.  Industries run better when their products reach even to the remotest locations faster and better with the help of good transport routes and roadways. This way the economy stays healthy the way how a heart would stay healthy if the arteries are well functioning. Hence one can say that the transport routes are called basic arteries of our economy.

In plants, you have Xylem which transports water and solutes from the roots to the leaves and Phloem which transports food from the leaves to the roots. Xylem and Phloem exist as vascular bundles of tubules inside the plant.
