I set myself up as being firm, gentle, and polite to everyone, and with a few exceptions, this formula worked very well for my whole career. If I were to give advice to somebody starting out in teaching, it would be to be polite and helpful, but not soft, and remember that the majority of things that students do wrong are mistakes which need explanation, not punishment.

I was in Chennai for almost 5 years where I used to go for swimming every weekend to Mahabalipuram and sometimes Pondicherry or a beach and Guindy State swimming pool. I have had a chance to save people from drowning in the sea as well. I have taught swimming to several people also and would like to continue the same in Bengaluru.
