Given: P and Q present age ratio is 5:7
Let us consider P's age as 5x and Q's age as 7x.
According to the statement given in question, We can form a equation as follow,
Q - (P+6) = 2
7x - ( 5x+6) = 2
7x - 5x - 6 = 2
2x = 8 hence, x = 4.
If x is 4, then P's age is 5×4 = 20
And Q's age is 7×4 = 28
The sum of P and Q current age is 20 + 28 = 48.
Answer: 48
