I have been practising Kathak for the past 5 years and have developed a strong understanding of its technical foundations, movement vocabulary, rhythm, coordination and expression.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand not just what to do, but how and why the movement works. I break down complex techniques into simple, clear steps and help students develop body awareness, coordination, posture, rhythm and confidence.

I especially enjoy teaching students who are new to Kathak or come from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. As someone from South India, I understand how unfamiliar some of the terminology, movements and cultural references can initially feel. I am able to explain and translate concepts in a relatable way, making Kathak easier to understand and connect with.

I also believe that every body learns differently. I observe each student's movement patterns, strengths and areas that need attention, and adapt my teaching accordingly. My aim is to create a personalised learning process where students can understand their own bodies, build a strong technical foundation and gradually become confident and expressive Kathak dancers.
