Annunthra R. - Professional Tutor | Eng &Social

I am a postgraduate in International Relations with a bachelor's degree in Digital Journalism and a strong academic and professional foundation in English, Social Science, research, and communication.

With a background spanning journalism, international affairs, policy research, and professional writing, I bring a practical and interdisciplinary approach to learning. My academic training and experience as a Research Officer at a think tank have strengthened my ability to explain complex topics, analyse information critically, and communicate ideas clearly.

My primary areas of teaching are English and Social Science, with a focus on building strong conceptual understanding, improving language and writing skills, and developing students' analytical abilities. In English, I can help students with grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, essay writing, creative writing, and effective communication. In Social Science, I focus on helping students understand concepts in History, Political Science, Geography, Civics, and related subjects, depending on their academic level and syllabus.

My experience in journalism and research has also given me a strong command of written communication, structured thinking, fact-based analysis, and simplifying complex information. I believe learning should go beyond memorising answers; students should understand what they study, develop confidence in expressing themselves, and learn to think independently.

My teaching approach emphasises clarity, patience, interactive learning, practical examples, and individual attention to each student's needs. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at their own pace.

Whether the goal is to strengthen subject fundamentals, prepare for examinations, improve English proficiency, or develop better writing and communication skills, I aim to make learning engaging, structured, and meaningful.
