I am a BA Economics graduate from Stella Maris College, Chennai, and currently work as a Research Associate at Nikore Associates, a public policy research and consulting firm. I graduated with First Class with Distinction and have experience tutoring students in both Economics and quantitative subjects.

During college, I worked as a peer tutor for Microeconomics I, Mathematics for Economics, and Environmental Economics. I conducted regular one-hour sessions for groups of 3-4 students, both online and offline, and helped improve the grades of three students. I also mentored three undergraduates in academic research and paper development. In addition, I have worked extensively with students through debates, Model United Nations, academic competitions, and research initiatives, including serving as a debate and MUN judge and providing students with structured feedback and guidance.

My teaching is structured around understanding concepts and then applying them. I typically begin by reviewing the previous session, introduce new concepts in simple steps, and then work through examples with the student before moving to practice questions. I use their answers and explanations to identify where they are getting stuck, and we go through incorrect answers together rather than simply giving them the solution. I adapt the pace, examples, and level of explanation to the student. During college, I worked with students from Tamil-medium backgrounds and helped them adjust to different syllabi as well as develop clearer answer-writing techniques.

I believe Economics is often taught in a way that is unnecessarily abstract and theory-heavy. My aim is to make the underlying logic clear and then show students how to apply it to problems and unfamiliar questions. I maintain a rigorous but approachable teaching style, encourage students to ask questions, and provide light practice work between sessions to reinforce what we cover.

My primary focus is on students in Classes 11-12, particularly those looking to strengthen their conceptual understanding, problem-solving, answer writing, and exam performance.
