To a populous country like India modern farming techniques are more of an essentiality rather than choice. To feed 121 crore people we need to increase our farm productivity or vertical farming. for this we need to adopt modern farming techniques which includes mechanisation of farming, using high yield variety seeds, pesticides, insecticides, nutrition based fertilizers etc. All of these inputs are produced in industries be it equipments like tractors, thrashers, harrowing machines etc, or fertilizers like urea, FYM, nitrates products, sulphate based fertilizers. The equipments used in micro irrigation techniques are also produced in industries. Thus as we move from traditional ways of farming towards moderns techniques the relationship between the primary and secondary sectors also grows stronger.
