It depends on your taste as both have their habits and ways. And as for kids, I would suggest that you go for Indian classical as it would make your kid open to more avenues as compared to western music due to larger range of sounds connected with Indian Classical Music. There is another important thing. It's easier to find a teacher for Indian classical than western vocal coach here in India. So yeah Indian Classical would be a much better option.

It depends on your taste as both have their habits and ways.
