Its all about understanding the subject and their basics. once you will start understanding, virtually you will have an interest and curiosity towards the subject.this is the place where faculties plays a biggest role.try to relate the things with real use cases and real practices.

start with C and read any C language book like a novel and visualize it. Never try to mug up the things and go through basic maths concept before starting programming

I agree to what Md Ajmat said.To add to that,keep practicing programs to understand every concept.Learning theory alone won't help in mastering a language.Do hands-on more and more and get the hold of the subject.
