The first law is all about a tendency (inertia) of any material having mass, but some student looks at it as a resisting force. Let me clear you that inertia is not a force; rather, it is a natural tendency of masses.
While the second law talks about the relation of change of momentum and force, and as we discussed that inertia is not a force, and hence it can't be compared with momentum change.
