Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo

I am Associate Professor in Physics with an experience of 26 years of teaching and research in Higher Education. I have been teaching students at PG, UG and intermediate level. There are enough success stories where students mentored by me have excelled in life in academics, industry, business, public service and other professions. A number of my taught are top notch engineers, doctors, media persons and Civil servants helping the nation to progress and enabling themselves a smooth journey along with their family and siblings. To me Teaching is not a service and consumerism, it is sharing of an emotion which makes lifelong impact on learners mind. It is creation of an event that has long lasting effect on the learner. I believe that it is not enough to learn, but it is more important to teach a learner as to how to learn. I have been adopting the tested methods of teaching-learning in my approach including Bloom's Taxonomy so as to make this process effective and engaging. Besides having been through various universities and other prestigious institutions during my own formative years, I am an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune which helped me to refine my own personality and inculcate a strong character besides gaining knowledge. I expect same level of standards from those who indulge in process of intellectual transactions. My areas of interest include renewable energy, mechanics, modern physics, mathematical physics and solid state physics. Adopting right approach to study each of these subject areas can invoke lot of fun, higher order thinking and creativity among learners. Besides teaching Physics I render my services as Divisional Coordinator of Career Counselling for nearly 50 colleges in my state helping students to design their careers in various sectors. We can!
