Why do people in India prefer an IT engineer rather than a national bank clerk as a son-in-law?

may be it has to do with the profession of an engineer . nevertheless , govt job as a clerk is still more secure and stable , though has less chance of dramatic rise in income . believe me you will find both sets of people in India .

the answer is very simple.an it professional earns much more than a bank clerk.the benefits of working with the govt have been nullified these days particularly regarding the pensionary benefits and so on.the private sector became much more beneficial now as compared to our previous generation.
