I am Vijayalakshmi Venkatesh, an experienced English educator with 29 years of teaching experience. I teach English to students from Class 1 to Class 10 and help them develop a strong foundation in English language and literature. Over the years, I have worked with students at different academic levels and have supported them in improving their grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills. My extensive experience has helped me understand the different challenges students face while learning English and how to address them effectively.

I hold multiple qualifications in the fields of English and education. My academic and professional qualifications include N.T.T., B.Ed., PGDELT, PGDEMA, M.A. in English, and M.A. in Psychology. I am also certified in Master Training. These qualifications have helped me build strong subject knowledge along with a deeper understanding of teaching methodologies, student behaviour, communication, and classroom management. I use this combination of knowledge and experience to create a learning environment that is both structured and supportive.

I have extensive experience teaching English Language and Literature and have also served as the Principal of an ICSE school. My experience as a school principal gave me valuable exposure to academic leadership, curriculum planning, student development, teacher coordination, and school administration. It also gave me a broader understanding of how students learn and the importance of creating the right academic environment for their overall development.

Throughout my teaching career, I have taught students at different levels and have provided both online and home tuition. I understand that students have different learning abilities, interests, and areas that require improvement. Therefore, I do not follow a completely one-size-fits-all approach. I first try to understand the student's current level and learning requirements and then structure my lessons accordingly. My aim is to ensure that every student receives the right amount of guidance, practice, and individual attention.

My teaching methodology is structured, student-centred, and interactive. I plan lessons carefully and focus on building concepts step by step. While teaching grammar, I use examples and practice exercises to help students understand how language rules work in actual communication. For reading and literature, I focus on comprehension, interpretation, vocabulary, and developing the ability to express ideas clearly. I also encourage students to ask questions and participate actively so that they gain confidence in using English.

I place particular importance on communication skills because I believe that learning English is not only about scoring well in examinations but also about being able to express oneself confidently. I help students improve their written and spoken communication through regular practice, discussions, reading activities, and structured exercises. My experience in Psychology also helps me understand students better and create a learning environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and gradually improving.

I conduct my classes online and use PPT presentations and a digital whiteboard to make lessons more visual, organised, and engaging. I combine explanations with examples, practice questions, discussions, and regular revision. I also monitor a student's progress and adjust my teaching approach whenever necessary. My focus is on ensuring that students genuinely understand what they are learning and are able to apply their knowledge independently.

With 29 years of experience in education, my goal is to help every student develop strong English fundamentals along with confidence and effective communication skills. Whether a student needs support with grammar, literature, school examinations, reading and writing, or overall language development, I provide patient and structured guidance based on their individual needs. I believe that with consistent practice, the right guidance, and a positive learning environment, every student can become a confident and capable English learner.
