Teaching Experience in detail in Music Production Training
The talent to make music is in all of us. It’s just that we haven’t found the right muse or the right instrument and in many cases haven’t taken the first step. I got into music early, being born into a family that loved to listen to every kind of music from early morning Suprabhatam by M.S Subhalakshmi’s to groovy tunes of Elvis Presley or Nina Simone over lazy weekend lunches, or eavesdropping on the evening shots of my Uncle’s “Rock and Rum” with Pink Floyd, Mick Jagger and Guns-n-Roses. Over time inspired by the late night adrenalin doses of Headbangers Ball on MTV, I picked up my first guitar and haven’t put it down since. I pursued a Bachelor’s in Visual Communication at St. Joseph’s College. While I loved the program, it was the vibrancy of the cultural scene at Joseph’s and the music buzz in Bangalore that hooked me into looking at it as a full time career. I finished off with a Masters in Music Production from Nathaniel School of Music and a Diploma from Trinity College of Music. I presently play the lead guitar with 2 bands - Celestials and Hash Tapes - and am also a sessions guitarist, music arranger and composer and on the way to producing my own album. My inspiration continues to be artistes such as Guthrie Govan, Mikael Akerfeldt, Fredrik Akesson, Marty Friedman etc. I also am a noviciate in Carnatic music trying to adopt its richness and heritage into my original compositions, inspired by legends like U Srinivas (mandolin) and Praveen Kumar (Carnatic guitar - Agam). I started teaching guitar lessons as a release from boredom in 2020 (thanks to Covid killing off showbiz) and soon found it engaging and rewarding as students find their way into the world of happy notes and positive energy. It’s been as fulfilling a journey as also being featured in Indulge “The Indian Express” e-paper as being one of India’s top 5 emerging Indie Rock artistes in 2021. Follow your own rhythm, Whistle your own melody Live your life like a song eternal Listen to the music in your head.
