Shanthi Girish

I am Shanthi Girish, an experienced Mathematics and Science teacher with 10 years of teaching experience. I teach Mathematics and Science to students from Classes 6 to 10 and focus on helping students develop strong conceptual foundations in both subjects. Over the years, I have worked with students with different learning levels and academic needs, and my aim has always been to make difficult concepts easier to understand through clear explanations, regular practice, and individual attention.

I have completed my Master of Science (M.Sc.) from Mangalore University in 2002 and my Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Bangalore University in 2016. My academic background, along with my professional teaching experience, has helped me develop a strong understanding of both Mathematics and Science as well as effective methods of teaching these subjects. My B.Ed. qualification has also strengthened my understanding of student learning, lesson planning, and classroom practices.

With 10 years of experience teaching Classes 6 to 10, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation during these academic years. Mathematics and Science require more than memorising formulas or definitions, so I focus on helping students understand the logic behind every concept. I encourage students to ask questions and work through problems step by step so that they gradually become more confident in solving questions independently.

My teaching approach is structured and student-focused. I prepare a clear lesson plan for every class with specific learning objectives and explain each topic in a systematic manner. I first assess the student's understanding of the topic and then build the concept from the basics before moving towards more advanced questions. This helps students who may be struggling with fundamentals as well as those who want to strengthen their existing knowledge.

While teaching Mathematics, I focus particularly on developing problem-solving skills and logical thinking. I explain formulas and methods with sufficient examples and encourage students to practise different types of questions. In Science, I use practical examples and everyday situations wherever possible to help students understand how scientific concepts work in the world around them. My goal is to make both subjects more relatable and less intimidating for students.

I conduct both online and offline classes and use PPT presentations and a digital whiteboard to make my lessons more interactive and organised. I combine visual explanations with examples, practice questions, discussions, and regular revision. During classes, I encourage students to participate actively, ask questions, and explain their reasoning. This helps me identify areas where they need additional support and allows me to adjust my teaching accordingly.

I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance, consistent practice, and a comfortable learning environment. I am patient with students and make sure that they have enough time to understand a concept before moving forward. Along with completing the syllabus, I focus on improving conceptual clarity, accuracy, confidence, and problem-solving ability so that students are better prepared for their school examinations.

My aim as a teacher is to make Mathematics and Science clear, engaging, and approachable for students from Classes 6 to 10. With my 10 years of teaching experience, academic background, and structured teaching methodology, I strive to help students overcome their difficulties, strengthen their fundamentals, and achieve better academic results. I want my classes to help students not only perform well in examinations but also develop a genuine understanding of the subjects they are learning.
